Hello from Kunming, a city of 3 million and our home for a week and a half. We’ve been really busy learning Mandarin, taking various modes of transportation, and eating ansd shopping our way through the Spring City. Pictures to follow!

We finished our expedition phase and are now in Kunming for two weeks with homestay families. Internet access is limited, but there’s plenty more in store for us!

After a long and windy bus ride from Lijianng, we’ve arrived at our guesthouse in Shangri-La (香格里拉). We’ll spend two days here before moving to a Tibetan village. We spent the night eating hot pot and shopping, and a great time was had by all! 再见 for now!

Hello from the peaceful village of Nan Yao Cun! Internet access here is very limited. We’ll be here until July 18 before setting off on a week-long expedtion. We’ll arrive in Kunming probably on the 26th.
